Dear colleagues,

It is an honor for us to extend a cordial invitation to the IV Ibero-American Congress of Sediments and Ecology (CISE) and the first Ibero-American Conference on Erosion and Sedimentation (JIES), which will be held jointly from August 5 to 9, 2024, at the Atlantic headquarters of the University of Costa Rica in the city of Turrialba. The event is organized by the University of Costa Rica, the International Sediment Initiative (ISI-LAC) of the PHI UNESCO, the International Association for Erosion and Sediment Control Ibero-American Chapter (IECA) IA, the Costa Rican Association of Soil Science ( ACCS), the Mexican Institute of Water Technology (IMTA), the Tropical Agricultural Research and Teaching Center (CATIE) and the Costa Rican Institute of Electricity (ICE). Our events have been characterized by attracting academics and professionals in general related to the topic of sediments and erosion in the Latin American and Caribbean region. It is an eminently technical event where participants will be able to learn about best practices, share experiences, strengthen professional ties and maintain a level of training regarding current topics on erosion, sedimentation, and ecology related to sediments. Not only will you experience a top-level professional event, but you will also have the opportunity to explore the natural and cultural wealth of Costa Rica. Together we will make this congress a success, we look forward to having your presence.
